6 Mile Beach Punta Banda Peninsula

6 Mile Beach Punta Banda Peninsula

This is the golden, stunning stretch of 6 mile beach that many of us call home. It is the premier place for swimming, diving, snorkeling, kayaking horseback riding, relaxing. The beauty of this unspoiled territory is unmatched. Take HWY 1 south and turn right at Km 78.4 in Maneadero at the light toward Labufadora (you will see a huge sign thatyou cant miss) There is a brand new Calimax grocery store on  your right. The road will wind through farmland and agricultural regions. then along the shores of the Estero de Punta Banda, toward the tiny town of Esteban Cantu and ultimately Punta Banda. When you see a sign for AGUA CALIENTE on the right, by the pizza place, turn right on a gravel road.

6mile beachPunta Banda PeninsulaThis road leads out onto a long sandy peninsula of wild dunes that run between a bay and an estuary. There are beach houses for sale and rent (more on that in Real estate and rental pages) by the day, week, month or annually. Options range from tiny beach shacks to luxurious homes.

BAJA MAMAS Restaurant.

The only restaurant on this beach, is located near Baja Beach Cove development. This homey, lively establishment is famous for its fresh seafood dishes, such as all you can eat clams and oysters, brought in twice a week from San Quintin. On Sundays there is a GInornous buffet. Featuring all you can eat clams, oysters, salads, pastas, soups, omelettes, pastries and more. It is truly a royal feast. Come hungry. You can eat by the beach here. Very lovely. In summers they have beach lunches with all beef sliders, beef hot dogs, curly fries; all prepared to order for you outside on the seaside patio. More on that in the cuisine section.
